What am I thinking about?

In an effort to help save my inbox let’s just address the most asked question of Jan:

Q: When will the FB Ad Ban end?

A: If I knew I’d have told you by now…no one knows. As I said in an interview with Campaigns & Elections which will be published on Wed of this week we need to hope FB Ads come back and be ready but we need to be planning and acting as if they never will.

What am I reading?

Most of what I’ve read this month that would usually go in this section was about the banning of you know who from you know where and as interesting as that is, it’s not what I want to focus on in this newsletter. Suffice to say think pieces gonna think but he’s off of Twitter and my enjoyment of Twitter has increased a lot this month.

New Tools of Interest

Not really a new tool per se but a new way to use an old tool: Dropbox now has a password manager feature

IKYMI: Facebook Likes are gone…followers remain and this is a great time to be a social media strategist/manager!

Also disappearing: The “Our Story” section on pages (no panicking! less than 3% of folks who engage with you on Facebook ever even go to your page meaning no one ever saw this anyway!)

File this under bad ideas: IG is testing letting folks decide whether or not to show like counts on posts

New on YT: Dedicated Pages for Hashtags– as usual Google properties late to the game

TikTok

For those who have been trying to figure out how to use TikTok in organizing try their new Q&A option which lets fans post questions for creators
