Breaking News

Meta has announced that it is extending the new ad ban indefinitely. They say until later this week but I expect the ban to continue until all races have officially been called and then it will depend what the other side does.

Trainings and Webinars

We are still mapping out what 2025 will look like on the training front and to help with that our Training Survey is still open…feel free to share your input on what trainings you’d like to see us offer next year

New Tools of Interest

Croissant: New tool for crossposting to Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon

Loops: A fediverse version of TikTok (Not to be mistaken with the forthcoming Threads Loops<sigh>)

Platform Updates

Meta Platforms

Facebook: Check your FB Ads settings!

Instagram: You can now name drafts and schedule posts from the drafts folder

Instagram: New in Stories: AI image expander tool

Threads:  Coming soon …Loops– the Threads version of groups (the jokes will just write themselves)

Threads: They’re here! They’re basic but they’re here! Analytics that is…right now it’s just Views, Interactions and some basic generic audience breakdowns but it’s a start.

Fediverse

Other Platforms

TikTok: Introducing Flip Stories

TikTok: You can now edit captions in different languages

Twitter/X: Just in time for post election mayhem the new Block functionality has started to roll out. Will be interesting to see if any of the app stores delist the app due to ToS specifically stating that social apps must provide a blocking option.
