What’s new to think about?
In early May I attended a tech startup conference and while there was a lot I took away from it (see this month’s tools section for some of it) what it really did was get me thinking yet again about how we do tool r&d when we’re already running at 300% capacity. Is it about price? Is it about whether a tool is specifically meant for organizing? Is it about ease of use? All of the above? So tell me…what do you look for when evaluating a new tool for potential use in your work?

When Internet Memes Infiltrate the Physical World– Good read on memes and how they are crossing from online to offline
Tools
Shopping.gives– A little like the Amazon Smiles program but more customizable by the recipient organization – if you sign up tell them I sent you
UpContent– What I like about this program is that it’s not sending you content that’s already all over the social media ecosystem, it’s blog posts and news articles that you can then send into the social media ecosystem and in my few weeks of using it it has surfaced much content that I’d not seeing in any of my other curation tools
Snapheal– Handy photo editing tool
